When I was growing up I used to think my life was like the Cosby show. Except my parents weren't doctors or lawyers, we didnt have any money, and I didn't have an annoying sister that didn't look anything like the rest of my siblings and had way too many problems so a spin off had to be created just to balance out her crazy....
The Cosby Family My Family
But like the Cosbys me and my siblings all got along and have been through a lot together. There have actually been many incidences where we all sang together and danced around in our living room as if we performing in front of thousands of people. I was the lead of course. Some would refer to me as the Beyonce of the family, but thats another story.
See the Cosby show was meant to be a comedy but it touched on some important issues. Like how to choose the right college, how to survive in the "real world", and how to remain on hit show on tv after having all the male leads giving birth to inanimate objects. The show has definitely helped me with two of these issues...and I had no problem choosing the right college.....yup
I guess I felt like I related to the Cosby show because I couldn't relate to any other black family on tv at the time. Yes there have been many times when I felt that UPN sitcoms were the story of my life...but I'm not proud of those moments. But you'll have to wait until another blog before I tell you about that one.
